      CARTHAGE -- Services for Clara Evelyn Cozart Latham, 96, of Gary, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at First Baptist Church in Gary, with the Rev. John Gradberg officiating. Interment will follow in Gary Cemetery under the direction of the Lipsey Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Gary. Mrs. Latham died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Longview. Clara Evelyn Cozart Latham was born January 13, 1909, in Timpson, to Hiram and Teresa "Tressie" Hinton Cozart. Mrs. Latham married Joseph "Joe" Weldon Latham December 23, 1930, in Panola County. She had lived in Panola County most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gary. Mrs. Latham taught school in Gary and Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe on September 21, 2001; a sister,Will Eva Bramblett in 2002; and a brother, Hiram Cozart in 1999. Mrs. Latham is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Williams and husband Curtis A. of Hallsville; son, Hiram Lee Latham and wife Mary of Dallas; sister, Lolette Smith of Bridge City; very special friend, Val Leech of Longview; four grandchildren, Lisa Kathryn Latham of Temple, Dee Ann Castellano of Shreveport, Carrie Rudnicki of Ruston, and Michael Latham of Houston; five great-grandchildren, Connor, Carson, and Allie-Marie Castellano of Shreveport, Will and Sam Rudnicki of Ruston; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Latham. Serving as pallbearers are Clyde Ennis Graves, Wayne Bellows, Randy Downing, Henry Downing, James "Buddy" Hall, and Glen Hall. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choosing.
