Frank C. Ramsower beloved Arizona pioneer and patriarch died at age 91 on May 10, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born in Bisbee, AZ on November 25, 1917, moved to Tucson in 1935. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was married 57 years to his dear wife, Florence. Frank established Ramsower's Garage in 1945, which is still family owned and operated. Frank was first and foremost a family man. He was a devoted husband, and present for every major event in his children's and grandchildren's lives, from baptisms to weddings to school plays. He never missed an opportunity to remark on how grateful he was to be surrounded by family, and was, in every sense, a patriarch, representing a family that came together often to support and celebrate each other. He was, and will forever be, loved greatly by his family, whose birthdays he never forgot, and whose stories he never tired of hearing. He had the memory of an elephant and the energy to make any teenager jealous. Frank lived independently and kept active with golf, bowling and classic cars through the age of 91. He was an active member of Tucson Touring T's, and the Model A Club. Frank made friends in any and every environment and was a man of great faith, pride and integrity. He was thoughtful and kind and solid as a rock. Frank was truly a great man and the legacy he leaves behind will not soon be forgotten. Frank is survived by his six children, David (Molly), Carl (Susan), Francie, Ken (Lisa), Don (Anne), Jerry (Stacy); 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friday, May 15, 2009 there will be a 600 - 800 p.m. visitation with a Rosary at 700 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel at 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. The Funeral Mass will be 1000 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at St. Cyril Church at 4725 E. Pima St. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Salpointe Catholic High School General Scholarship Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
