Aileen Rogers Middleton passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007. Her service was Jan. 2, 2008 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with B. F. Risinger Jr. officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons; Elliott Middleton Jr., Adam Buchwald, Andrew Buchwald, Matt Middleton, Yale Middleton, and Parks Middleton. Aileen was born in Henderson on June 18, 1913, to Oscar Scott and Clevie Jarrell Rogers. In 1934, she graduated with honors from Baylor University with a degree in accounting. After her marriage to Elliott Middleton in 1935, they lived in Corsicana except for a brief time in Ft. Stockton, and several years away during World War II. In Corsicana, Aileen volunteered for children’s Sunday school, Camp Fire Girls, the American Cancer Society, and the Pink Ladies at Navarro Hospital. Her role as homemaker was paramount in her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, C. Elliott Middleton; and her brother, O. Scott Rogers of Houston. She is survived by Scott and Susan Middleton of Corsicana, Mary and Larry Buchwald of Lawton, Okla., and Bill Middleton of Dallas; grandchildren, Elliott Middleton of Tyler, Elaine Bartlett of Dallas, Andrea Trieschmann of Little Rock, Ark., Adam Buchwald of Farwell, Sarah Buchwald of London, U.K., Andrew Buchwald of Tulsa, Okla., and Matthew, Lauren, Yale and Parks Middleton of Dallas; great grandchildren Hannah, Rachel, Abigail, Miriam, Elliott III, Lydia, and Luke Middleton of Tyler; Severin and Reese Bartlett of Dallas; and Max and Katharin Aileen Trieschmann of Little Rock, Ark. Aileen loved her family, growing up in East Texas, playing bridge with friends, and traveling with family and friends around the world and around the U.S. Her legacy is a quiet sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of others, a love of learning, and a love of family. She will continue to be a model of dignity and courage as she graciously adapted to the challenges of her life. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Children’s Scholarship Fund, The Hope Center, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, Corsicana.
