      Funeral Services for Mrs. J. G. Jackson, Sr., of Angleton, who died at her residence in Angleton Friday, were held from the First Methodist Church in Angleton Saturday with Rev. E. A. Peterson, pastor, officiating.
      Burial was in the Angleton cemetery under the direction of the Barrow Funeral Home.
      Mrs. Jackson, the wife of J. G. Jackson, Sr., had been an invalid for a number of months. Born at Garrison, Texas, Sept. 10, 1888, Mrs. Garrison came to Angleton when a young girl.
      She accepted a position with the telephone company and when the 1913 flood imperiled life and property she was the chief operator and met the emergency with courage and fidelity.
      Later she was a deputy tax collector, when records were kept in long hand. After her marriage she centered he attention on building a home and became a devoted mother and a kind and generous friend. As a skillful pianist, she contributed much to the pleasure of her community.
      She is survived by her husband, J. G. Jackson, Sr., her son John G Jackson, Jr., A. S. V-12, U.S.M.R. Class at Norman, Okla.; two brothers, John F. Garrison, Sr., of Angleton, and J. Bonner Garrison, of Freeport; and a number of nieces, nephews and other near relatives.
      Active pallbearers were H. R. Stevens, J. H. Tigner, Henry Lee, A. O. Evans, L. E. Acker and R. H. Stark.
