      Arthur Garrison
      Funeral Services for Arthur W. "Slim" Garrison, 79, of 316 E. Second St., in Bloomington, who apparently died from a gunshot wound on Friday in a Victoria hospital, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Funeral Home on Red River Street. The Rev. Jesse Mothersbaugh will officiate.

      Burial will be in Colonial Gardens Cemetery, with the Victoria Masonic Lodge conducting graveside services.

      He is survived by his wife, Katherine Hodges Garrison of Bloomington; a son, James B. Garrison of Houston; a sister, Lucille Bishop of Fort Cobb, Okla.

      Pallbearers will be Willie Parks, E. B. McGill, Mavin Maroney, Ben Garner, Lloyd Bass and Bob Hindman.

      Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Whitfield, Raymond Bundick, Bennie Drozd, Jim Skarda, and members of Victoria Masonic Lodge No. 40 and First United Methodist Church Bible class.

      Mr. Garrison had been a member of the Victoria Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He was a member of the Victoria Shrine Club, ALAM Temple of Corpus Christi and of the First United Methodist Church men's Bible class.

      He was a former resident of Garrison where he was born on Oct. 5, 1906. He was son of the late James and Eula Garrison. Mr. Garrison was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad after 47 years of service.

      Mr. Garrison was found suffering from a gunshot wound by his wife Friday at their home. According to the Victoria County sheriff's department, a .22-caliber rifle was found nearby. A ruling on the cause of death is pending and is expected to be made Monday.
