Mancy Nell Wingo Becomes Bride of T. H. Bunch, Jr.
Miss Mancy Nell Wingo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wingo of Plainview, and T. H. Bunch, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Bunch, Sr. of Greenville, were married Monday night at 8:00 o'clock at the First Baptist Church in Plainview. Rev. L. B. Reavis, pastor, read the single ring ceremony.
A massive arrangement of palms, Woodwardia fern, and standards of gladioli formed a background for the alter and between were tall, lighted cathedral tapers. Tiered, flame-tipped candles were on the channel. At every third pew aisle was a white gladioli and a white taper.
Mrs. Guy Jacobs played prenuptial organ music, "Rose of Picardy" (Haydn Wood) and "Smilin' Through." The bride's father sang "At Dawning" (Cadman) and Mrs. C. C. McGlasson sang "Because" (Guy D'Hardlot) after which "The Bridal Chorus" from Wagner's "Lohengrin" preceded the entrance of the bridal party.
Miss Wingo entered on the arm of her father. She wore a gown of ice blue marquisette over blue satin, designed in princess style with a square neck. Plaited ruffles, edged in chantilly lace, cascaded over her shoulder4s and formed the long train. Her illusion veil was caught with a heart-shaped cap of plaited marquisette and her boquet was of white bridal orchids and stephanotis. For "something old" she wore a strand of pearls belonging to her mother.
Mrs. Jim Norman of Plainview was matron of honor, and the six bridesmaids were Misses Janice Thompson, PLainview; Dee Kelly, Lubbock; Doris Peavy, Slaton; Margaret Boone, Amarillo; the bridegroom's sister, Miss Elizabeth Ann Bunch, Greenville; and Mrs. Howard Hoffman of Slaton. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Elaine Turney and Miss LaJuana Ward of Tulia.
Best man was C. P. Simpson, Alice, Tex.; and groomsmen were Maurice Wingo, brother of the bride, Jim Norman, Shay Wester, P. C. Anders, Jr., and Frank McGlasson, all of Plainview, and Marice Roger of Big Spring.
A reception for members of the family and close friends followed immediately at the Wingo home, which was decorated with white gladioli, white asters, and dephinium. The lace-laid dining table was centered with a mirror reflector which held the three-tiered wedding cake with its decoration of white rose buds.
The house party was composed of members of the wedding party and Miss Helen Cowan and Miss Martha Jane Crocker of Tulia, Mr. and Mrs. Wingo, and Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Bunch, Sr.
Wedding guests from Tulia were Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Turney, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ward, Dr. and Mrs. E. P. Stewart, Judge and Mrs. James T. Hale, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Heard, and Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Cowan. Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Wilson of Kress also attended the wedding.
Former associates of Mrs. Bunch on the tulia school faculty who attended were Miss Eron Gafford, Dallas; Miss Lurline Bowman, Canyon, and Miss Joyce Craven, Lubbock.
The couple will live in Alice, Tex., were Mr. Bunch is in the insurance business.
